ARTIST STATEMENT
Quaker Marsh Conservation Area is a tiny plot of land in North Falmouth, overlooking a salt marsh at its highest point and a tidal stream at its lowest point. Walking along the muddy lower path one evening, the tall, dark grasses flanking the stream created the perfect contrast to the multicolored sunset I was seeing reflected in the marsh stream. I’ve tried to recreate what I saw, particularly the foreground grasses straining towards the water and the intense pink, orange, and lavender hued sunset with its reflection.
