ARTIST STATEMENT

This is a story of winter—of its tumultuous wind and its blanketed calm, restriction and vastness, restlessness and patient waiting. It’s a story of a blue sky and contrasting snow. It tells of insulation and isolation, but also of the incubation and germination hidden within. It is a story about nature but also of an artist’s creative evolution and new growth to come. It’s a hopeful story.

MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUES

Sewn textile made with my hand-dyed indigo linen, quilting solids, vintage shibori and hand-dyed upholstery fabrics.

Hand dyeing of linen with both indigo and ProX dyes. Machine pieced textile design. Longarm quilted. All processes completed by me.
