Kailasa

ARTIST STATEMENT
This intricately pieced and slightly humorous work focuses on telling stories with bits of fabric. By combining the words “symbol” and “graphic” she created her own word to describe these artworks: “symbographic.” This piece is an interpretation of the Kailasa Temple in Ellora, India. Rather than a representation of the temple, “Kailasa” is more of a collection of memories created in her symbographic style.
