ARTIST STATEMENT

“Auntie Jean” was my first expressive crochet portrait and started me on this journey of figurative painting with yarn. When completed, I saw so much of my aunt in her that I named it after her. I remember hours of her sitting with my mom, having tea, discussing everything from their growing up years in London during WWII to their lives as military wives and mothers.
