ARTIST STATEMENT
My free form textile art piece is an abstract representation of light descending through trees in a forest. Using hand painted silk as the medium, I have sought to capture the ephemeral beauty of light filtering through the leaves, branches, and trunks of the trees. The flowing and organic lines of the silk, along with the use of vibrant and subtle color, work together to evoke a sense of peacefulness and tranquility, reminiscent of a stroll through a forest on a sunny day. This piece is a celebration of the beauty of nature and the meditative experience of being surrounded by it. It invites the viewer to immerse themselves in the sensations of light and movement, and to find their own personal connection to the forest.
