ARTIST STATEMENT

Winter Storm is one of a series of quilts I have made in which small rectangles of fabric are fused onto another quilt to create a new image. As I work, I use the shapes and value pattern of the underquilt to inform where to place the fused elements to imply movement. Thus the past, though altered, is still present.
