ARTIST STATEMENT

Choreographing a joyous dance on the design wall, I revel in playing with layered shapes, working with color relationships, creating a focal point, suggesting movement, and adding detail and texture with stitches. Creating lively uplifting compositions is a satisfying experience.

Hand-dyed and commercial cotton, cotton/polyester batting, thread, wood cradled board, maple floating frame

Freehand cut shapes, raw edge machine appliqué, hand embroidery, layered with batting, backing, machine quilting
