ARTIST STATEMENT
I must say I have a lot of fun coming up with the titles, I can’t help but get a little playful. Actually, with this original image there was no broken lens, worm, or nest with eggs. The image was a little boring unless I just looked at it as a study in composition and color. But I needed more to peak my interest so I added those extra elements after the piece was finished, but before quilting. Finding the right title is always the most fun. This was the last piece in the series. As a painter I feel like I’m just warming up. These pieces may look very complicated but with my step by step technique it’s all very user friendly and intuitive.
