ARTIST STATEMENT

From major cities to the smallest villages on every continent, there are coaches who give their time, skills, and knowledge to the children. Their names may not be recognizable, they may receive only local appreciation, but they make the world a better place. My husband Paul volunteered for 11 years as a wrestling coach, starting when our eldest signed up in sixth grade through our younger son’s final high school year. He noted what wrestlers did well, what needed practice, and all the scores. Win By Fall, for those not familiar, is what you want: to win by pinning your opponent. Luckily, that was a fairly often for Eli.
